You don't want to cut strips too wide or too narrow.

Two piles of strips: These were two pieces of fleece, each 36 inches by 60 inches. Each strip is 9 inches by 1 inch roughly. |
You need to tie across from hole to hole and
also diagonally as shown above.

Work in whichever direction you like. You don't have to go left to right. |
When it's done, the underside should look like this. Don't forget to tie strips through holes along the edges. |
